Looking for some real-life experience using natively compiled PL/SQL code? Database Specialists’ president and CTO Roger Schrag presented a technical session on this topic at a recent conference of the Northern California Oracle Users Group. He provided a brief overview of the native compilation feature, and discussed his experiences on a project where a production application including over 35,000 lines of complex PL/SQL code was natively compiled. At the session, he provided information on actual performance improvements observed, system stability, and the inevitable unexpected issues that popped up along the way. You can check out the PowerPoint presentation that accompanied his session at http://dbspecialists.wpengine.com/presentations.html.
